Juniper Innovations’ consultants co-wrote part of ISRetail’s warehouse management system, which is a best of breed solution ISRetail sells and promotes. This system was installed in Pingo Doce (2005), located on the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo, Portugal.
Pingo Doce is a grocery retailer based in Portugal. They needed a new warehouse management system to give them shorter lead times between warehouse and stores, improved inventory control and reduced inventory levels.
They selected ISRetail’s warehouse management system after seeing its inventory and control capabilities at Jerónimo Martins. They knew the system could significantly help with a number of difficulties including:
- Effectively managing a wide variety of inbound island deliveries
- Tightly controlling warehouse resources with severe space constraints and access issues
The warehouse system and consultants also implemented:
- Better operational and more cost effective use of shipping containers
- Lead time reduction to Pingo Doce stores
- Lower cost hardware solutions within the warehouse
- Significant reduction in inventory errors
- Improved stock holding accuracy and lower average stock holding
